Behaviour Modification

At KNACK, our well trained psychologist do intensive behaviour modification with clients in the natural environment, i.e. school, home, etc. While dealing with children, we know that as part of universal developmental milestones, they do not have completely developed cognitive faculties like adults. Hence, after understanding the concerns faced by the child and his/her potential to overcome them, we use behavior modification techniques by systematically shaping the child's behavior towards the accepted norm. We train parents/caretakers if necessary because we believe that every technique and strategy would work best if started in a conducive environment which can then be replicated in real world situations.

Counseling

At KNACK through a counselling process we provide appropriate professional help and advice to resolve personal and psychological problems. We form a relation with the client which helps us identify their strengths and areas of conflict. Systematic resolution of conflicts leads to a sustainable growth and equips one with strategies to identify future problems and work systematically towards their solution. Special Education

At KNACK, our special educators are trained professionals dealing with the academic needs of the child’s overall development. We understand that base related to academic concepts needs to be worked out for overall development. Our professionals understand the child’s modality of learning to include that as a teaching tool. They address the child’s individual differences and needs in order to meet the demands of the curriculum. They cater to the child’s individual needs by organizing learning outside the classroom in a non-conventional manner.

Remedial Teaching

At KNACK, we include school curriculum as a part of our remedial session to boost scholastic performance. We understand the difficulty faced by a child in managing regular focus on school curriculum, hence we include that along with working on basic concepts. Our professionals use non-conventional way of teaching school curriculum and preparing the child for assessments. We use an approach to have maximum understanding of the concept and enhancing its recall. Remedial teaching has been showing great results with the age group of 5 to 13 years. We are also equipped to train children for NIOS examination.

Shadow Teaching

At KNACK, our shadow teachers are trained professionals who are physically available with the child at his/her school. This service can be availed for children who have adjustment problems at school, children who have difficulty communicating to the parents regarding the ongoing tasks at school and children who need individual instructions to keep up with school activities. Our professionals work on behaviour, academics as well as social skills. We work with an long term long of making the child independent.

What our Shadow Teachers do?

  • Understand the need of the child, parent and the school.
  • Formulate Individual Support Plan (ISP) for the child and implement it.
  • Facilitate the child in displaying appropriate classroom behavior.
  • Provide guidance and assistance in carrying out academic activities at school set up.
  • Provide a conducive environment for the child at school with the help of concerned teacher/s and available resources.
  • Keep the parents apprised about the daily classwork and homework.
  • Enable the child towards independent functioning at school set up systematically.
  • Liaison with other concerned KNACK professionals and parents.

Home Schooling

At KNACK, we provide comprehensive home sessions merging academic as well as other needs to suit the client's comfort. We understand your difficult when school and other medical professionals feel your child is yet not fit for your school and you on the other hand are worried about the opportunity your child is missing. KNACK puts in the best plan to action in such situation wherein, we take up home-schooling. Our professionals not only take up academics but also give equal importance to social skills. We are well equipped with expected level of curriculum at different age and the material required for the same. We are very sensitive of the child’s individual difference while preparing them to be a part of school in near future.

At KNACK we believe in increasing awareness and bring enthusiasts closer by means of tailor made workshops addressing the needs of the audience. Shadow Teacher Training

At KNACK we re-define the role of a Shadow Teacher by training them to have a systematic approach towards making a child independent. Shadow Teachers play a very important role in life event of a child with special needs; considering the number of hours they spend with the child on regular basis. At KNACK, we train the Shadow Teacher appointed by you with specific child-centered approach as well as we monitor the growth. Well trained shadow teachers can do wonders by making the complete experience of being in school more productive and fun; whereas on the other hand an inappropriate Shadow teacher has a possibility to create damage increasing the struggle for the child.

Itinerant Visit

At KNACK, our Itinerant Professionals provide a liaisoning between our team of KNACK professionals dealing with the child, child’s school and the parent/s. We realized that it is very important that whatever effective approach is being implemented in the child’s IEP and ICP is conveyed to the child’s school. Our Itinerant professionals are most convenient solution to any school’s concern related to children with special needs; we not only train teachers and support staff but also intensively work with children during our visits. By doing this we ensure a holistic approach of intervention, which leads to systematic growth of the child.

What our Itinerant Professionals do?

  • Visit child’s school at regular intervals.
  • Discuss IEP and ICP with concerned teachers. Co-ordinate child’s educational goals.
  • Modify curriculum with the help of the concerned teacher.
  • Help the concerned teachers formulate a plan of action.
  • Take feedback from the concerned teacher and/or head of the school.
  • Participate in meetings organized by the school.
  • Liaison with other concerned KNACK professionals and parents.

Parent and Caregiver training

At KNACK we understand the need for parents and caregivers to get trained to use a systematic approach towards working with children with special needs. Systematic approach is required 24*7 with children and parents/caregivers sending the maximum time are the first hand providers of the same. Our professionals train parents on specific behaviour modification as well as remedial techniques and guide them along the way of implementing. We provide tailor made material and assist in its execution. This service can be best avail through are different modes of online services, thus city, area, state and physical presence is no bar.
